Tuesday August 5

Bonnie: It's been a beautiful relaxing day except for our bike ride.  We haven't ridden in a good while so we were both tired.  I only went 12 miles, but Bob went over 20.  When he got back his knee was really hurting.  But, the ibuprofen is now kicking in, thankfully.  We are about to go out fishing so we can really "relax"! It's nice catching the fish so we have plenty to eat.  We usually have it two times a week.  It helps keep down the food costs, which are expensive compared to the US.

Bob: We caught 2 perch and 1 walleye. Bonnie caught a huge perch and she had a walleye up to the boat but it got off the hook. I caught a tiny perch and my hook came out its jaw right beneath its eye. Decided to cut the line and throw the fish back in. Wasn't very careful so I ended up cutting off my sinker too and threw it back with the fish and hook! Just bought the sinkers yesterday too. Oh well, live and learn. At least we have enough fish for a good meal.

Bonnie:  Tonight we were accompanied by ducks as we traveled south on the river. I've never seen so many ducks out in the evening when we've been fishing.  I tried to get pictures but they didn't turn out very well. And then, just before we got home, there was a loon really close to our boat.  I couldn't get the camera out fast enough to get its picture. It went under the water and came up away from the boat. It's fun to see the wildlife here. So interesting.
